PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Community Youth Development (CYD) Professional will be responsible for the implementation of the Community Youth Development project. The Professional will be responsible for promoting and strengthening partnerships between schools, community organizations, and government agencies to increase student achievement, attendance, and to bring educational enrichment, mentoring and public service programs to at-risk students and their families. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for providing students with youth development activities and programs such as character education program in alignment with the STEAM+ initiatives program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Master's degree, preferred
Texas Teaching Certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned or other permits as approved by state
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Communicate effectively (verbal and written), both in English and Spanish; utilize effective interpersonal skills; utilize advanced technology and computer skills. Must have knowledge of robotics, music, art, athletics, and STEAM+ initiative. Provide staff development on state, federal and state legislation and programs; curriculum development for both elementary and secondary educational components.
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience as a classroom teacher or relevant K-12 experience
Experience with parental involvement
Administrative experience, preferred
