PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for handling law enforcement matters throughout the district as enumerated in the McAllen ISD Police Department “Procedures Manual”, Board of Trustees Policies, and applicable federal, state and local laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Current Texas Peace Officer’s license by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education
Texas Class C Driver’s License
Must be bondable by a standard bonding company
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with youth as well as adults
Demonstrate ability to write an effective, correct and legally complete offense report in the English language
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a police officer
Prior experience in police personnel management
Training or experience in law enforcement specialties, such as crime scene investigation, criminal investigation, traffic accident investigation, crime prevention

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $22.58
Midpoint: $25.66
Maximum: $28.74
Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience. |
