2021 SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM - FACE-TO-FACE/DISTANCE LEARNING ON-LINE/VIRTUAL
Qualifications: 48+ College Hours or Bachelor's Degree
Secondary School Tutors- To provide in-class supplemental academic tutoring in reading and math instruction to migrant students in 2021 summer remediation classes in both middle school and high school classes. Students will receive supplemental grade-appropriate skill development tutoring that is TEKS-aligned and/or for STAAR preparation/remediation. Tutors may be assigned to Fossum Middle School, High School EOC remediation classes and/or the Migrant Credit CAMP dependent on summer enrollment. Students will be offered the option of face-to-face instruction or remote support. Applicants must be fully computer literate and able to meet documentation requirements and deadlines. High school tutors must have strong algebra, social studies and language arts background. Need 4-6 tutors with Bachelor's degree and 4-6 tutors with 48 college hours. Total includes both middle and high school tutors depending on summer enrollment. Middle school tutors will work from May 31 to June 14 (2 wks) and high school tutors will work from May 31 to Aug 19 (9 wks).
Elementary School Tutors-To provide emergent literacy skills to pre-school entry migrant children utilizing the Texas Education Agency’s approved A Bright Beginning Curriculum. Enrichment instruction will be provided remotely and will require advanced computer skills, high level organizational skills and ability to meet all documentation and deadline requirements. Program will run from May 31 to June 23. Need 2-3 tutors with Bachelor's degree.
