PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist in the direction and management of the overall theatre arts program for the assigned campus; Develop student skills, talents and creativity within the theatre arts program; Provide students with an opportunity to participate in curricular and extracurricular theatre art activities and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), TETA, and district requirements. Plan activities to achieve district, regional, and state recognition. Assure high levels of achievement and learning for all theatre arts students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, required
Valid PK-12 or 6-12 Texas teaching certificate in Theatre, required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of overall operation of the theatre program; Ability to produce a high-quality theatre arts program; Ability to manage budget, materials and equipment; Knowledge of state, UIL, and TETA policies governing theatre arts; Ability to implement policy and procedures; Ability to interpret data; Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills; Demonstrate knowledge of subjects assigned; Exhibit general knowledge of curriculum and instruction; Basic computer skills.
