PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The RDSPD Instructional Strategist is responsible for working closely with teachers and administrators in all schools to help mitigate student struggles in both reading and math while also facilitating and utilizing best practices to improve performance of struggling students. The RDSPD Instructional Strategist will provide support to members of the school community that is consistent with the requirements mandated by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree, required
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned, required
ESL/Bilingual certification, required
Special Education degree, required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Deep understanding of research and evidence-based practices for teaching reading and math
Ability to accurately assess student progress
Extensive knowledge base of content, methodologies, and pedagogical practices related to the teaching of English Language Arts, as well as literacy in general with an emphasis on intervention and differentiation
Extensive knowledge of curricular requirements such as those mandated by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state assessments
Ability to provide resources and training to campus staff on research and evidence-based practices for teaching literacy & math.
Ability to gather and assist in analyzing data and write reports related to literacy & math.
Aptitude for creating an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth, build teacher capacity, and accelerate reading and math achievement for all students
Experience:
Three (3) years of teaching or experience with Special Education, preferred |
