PRIMARY PURPOSE:

In the absence of the primary classroom teacher/aide, provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification Required:

Bachelor's Degree and a Valid Texas Teacher Certificate-$110 per day

                             {OR}

Bachelor's Degree and proof of Enrollment in Alternative Certification Program-$85 per day

                             {OR}

Bachelor's Degree and a Substitute Teacher Certificate from one of the following: 

South Texas College or Region One Education Service Center or University of Texas Rio Grande Valley-$85 per day

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Communicate effectively (verbal and written); utilize effective interpersonal skills; demonstrate knowledge of subjects assigned; exhibit general knowledge of curriculum and instruction; basic computer skills, preferred

Experience:

Teaching experience, preferred

Working Days:  As needed
