PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide instructional support to general education content teachers in areas related to individualized instructional needs and operations; assists in planning, delivery of lessons, scaffolding of activities, differentiation of instruction and decision making for the attainment of high academic student success; provide assistance to individual school in instructional management, building leadership capacity and program implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Texas Teaching Certificate: Special Education, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned or other permits as approved by state, required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate work collaboratively, interact professionally and harmoniously with students, district staff, parents and a diverse community.
Demonstrates and employs effective peer coaching skills.
Demonstrates ability to use and seek effective strategies for differentiating instruction with the use of standard-based curriculum.
Demonstrates the ability to assist and participate in the coordination and monitoring of the School Improvement Team’s efforts.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of student teaching or approved internship, required
