PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Maintain student attendance records; enter and update PEIMS information; assist with student registration; work independently and perform work of a general office nature that assists with the smooth operation of the campus
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) years of college or business/technical school, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of computers and related software
Ability to communicate effectively both in English and Spanish orally and in writing preferred
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Minimum of (2) two years of general office experience, preferably in a public education environment

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $15.50
Maximum: $21.62
Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinate the registration and withdrawal of students.
2. Post enrollment, withdrawals and attendance in the computer on a daily basis.
3. Verify student attendance and other data with campus/district personnel on a periodic basis.
4. Document, reconcile and maintain student data.
5. Maintain a written log of student enrollment, withdrawals and absences.
6. Maintain records of excuses of student absences.
7. Maintain contact with parents, district personnel and outside agencies regarding student data.
8. Enter and update PEIMS information (students).
9. Generate reports as required or requested by campus, district, state or federal personnel.
10. Assist with student records.
11. File and store all necessary documents for safekeeping and future use.
12. Input and maintain OCR data.
13. Code LEP/Bilingual/ESL students.
14. Enter and update report card data/progress reports.
15. Assist other office staff as appropriate - principal’s secretary, nurse, receptionist; answer phones/administer medication to ill students.
16. Enter discipline data into the computer.
17. Assist students, teachers and parents as needed.
18. Maintain discretion and confidentiality.
19. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
20. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
