PRIMARY PURPOSE:

 

To assist and provide safe efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED, preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with children with disabilities

Ability to communicate with school administrators and public

 

Experience:

None

 

Work Days / Hrs. Per Week:  187 / 27.5 hours - Paid Biweekly

 

Auxiliary Pay Structure:  Pay Grade 1

 

Hourly Pay Range:

Minimum:   $12.00

Midpoint:    $14.50

Maximum:  $17.00

 

Note:  Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1. Monitor students in bus and secure all wheelchairs.

 

2. Assist in filling out disciplinary reports.

 

3. Keep bus clean.

 

4. Assist substitute bus driver on routes.

 

5. Observe safety procedures at all times and report any safety hazards.

 

6. Attend in-service meetings.

 

7. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.

 

8. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
