Experience: Three (3) years Classroom Teacher, required Days: 192 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Consult frequently with classroom teachers and analyze student performance data to determine specific areas of need. Create intervention groups and schedules based on data analysis. 2. Develop customized intervention plans based on individual student needs. Adjust intervention plan as needed based on ongoing assessment data. 3. Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to align interventions with classroom instruction. 4. Communicate regularly student progress to the students themselves, to other teachers as appropriate, to the principal and/or instructional leaders, and to parents. 5. Establish and implement a scientifically research based instructional support program to assure that students make optimal gains in specific areas of need. Utilize evidence based instructional strategies to address identified learning gaps. 6. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives and methods to address the needs of special populations [e.g. at-risk, economically disadvantaged, emergent bilingual students]. 7. Plan, prepare and execute lessons, instructional strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students. 8. Document student progress and prepare reports on a regular basis as require by funding source. 9. Collaborate and work effectively with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to monitor student progress. 10. Monitor and assess student achievement through informal and formal testing procedures. Regularly assess and monitor the progress of students receiving interventions. 11. Maintain equipment and curriculum inventories. 12. Assist students in analyzing and understanding the learning process so that they may become life-long learners. 13. Attend all meetings and in-service as directed and keep abreast of developments in curriculum/instruction as leadership is provided. 14. Seek continuous professional development growth that relates to the assigned program and that meets district requirements. Stay current on educational research and best practices related to academic interventions. 15. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible and be a positive role model for students 16. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social and emotional development of students and take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. 17. Manage student behavior in the classroom adhering to the District Discipline Management Plan in accordance with Board policies, administrative regulations and Individual Education Plans. 18. Keep informed of and comply with federal, state, campus regulations and policies for classroom teachers; compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents as required by funding source. 19. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding source guidelines. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, iPad, copier, and multimedia equipment WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to instruct Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Assist in restraining students in crisis situations; frequent prolonged, irregular hours and occasional evening meetings; occasional lifting or moving up to 45 pounds and over; monitor students for a prolonged period of time; monitor multi-tasks/projects; meet deadlines, develop effective relationship with students, and parents.
